Day four of looking back at our reads of the year brings us to our list of top 10 Characters of 2011 - villains, heroes or heroines or just supporting characters.
As always, we'd love you to chime in with what characters stuck out for you in the books you read this year!

Picking ten for this category was a bit more difficult because it was a lot broader. Thankfully, a few of my heroes that didn't make the cut in my Top Ten Boyfriends were able to be featured here. Yet again, these are listed in no particular order and may not have been published this year.
- Raylene Pendle - Bloodshot by Cherie Priest
- Alexandria - Half-Blood by Jennifer Armentrout
- Ari - Smokeless Fire by Samantha Young
- Rhiannon Murphy - Dead, Undead or Somewhere in Between by J.A. Saare
- Adrian deJesus - Hellbent by Cherie Priest
- Cricket Bell - Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins (Review)
- Chess Putnam - City of Ghosts by Stacia Kane
- John Murphy - Sweet as Sin by Inez Kelley
- Katsa - Graceling by Kristin Cashore
- Raffe - Angelfall by Susan Ee (Review)
This was such a hard one! For any book I love, I can pick out three or four characters that make it worth reading so how do I narrow it down? Just like Cait, there are a couple of characters in here that came very close to making my Book Boyfriend list, so they were the only no-brainers. The rest..argh.
- Sienna Lauren - Kiss of Snow by Nalini Singh
- Zach - Shift (Shade #2) by Jeri-Smith Ready
- Secret McQueen - A Bloody Good Secret (Secret McQueen #2) by Sierra Dean
- Dragos Cuelebre - Dragon Bound by Thea Harrison
- Death - Rage and Hunger by Jackie Morse Kessler
- Juliana - Eleven Scandals to Start to Win a Duke's Heart by Sarah MacLean
- Kyle - Caressa's Knees by Annabel Joseph
- Regin the Radiant - Dreams of a Dark Warrior by Kresley Cole
- Max Emery - The Reluctant Nude by Meg Maguire
- Nick McCall - A Lot Like Love by Julie James
Tomorrow - a look ahead at 2012!

This is an awards-free blog but if you'd like to pay tribute in virtual chocolate, that works (just kidding).

Yes yes yes....to Cricket Bell. I adore him and I want to marry him!
Death is a really good choice too. I hear he is getting his own book too!
Kiss of Snow was the first ARC I ever got, so I like Sienna a great deal, even though it was a little disappointing.
A Lot Like Love was one or maybe THE one first contemporary romance novels I've read and Nick was so easy to fall for. *content sigh*
I don't think I've read any other of your books, Barbara!
Omg, Cait! Chess and Crickett! In one list! I absolutely adore Chess. She's one of the most unique heroines I've come across. And Cricket, although he's not my favorite guy in the world, was such a sweet character.. *another content sigh*
I like your lists! (In case you hadn't noticed LOL)
Patricia
I liked Katsa from Graceling too, and I can't wait to read some of these other titles you've mentioned.
Have you heard of Allie Beckstrom in "Magic to the Bone" by Devon Monk? It's a Paranormal/Urban Fantasy series. Allie is badass magic wielder with a penchant for getting in over her head.
Hi Karen - Yay, Death's book is the last one - well, not yay that it'll be over, but I can't wait to read it. It should be epic. I have Loss to read, I'm antsy to get to it.
Kiss of Snow wasn't my favorite of the Psy-Changelings, but I liked getting Sienna and Hawke taken care of. I sort of wished she'd had a major showdown with Ming Le Bon but I suppose that would have ended a big part of the series. I totally love anything Julie James writes, so Nick..yummmmm
Rita, I keep seeing Devon Monk on my rec list at Amazon but haven't tried her yet because I'm always wary about jumping into series that are always well underway. I love magic-based UFs though - Jenn Bennett's new one was really one of my faves this year so I'll have to look at it.
Okay, okay - I guess I'll have to finally get around to reading Lola so I can see what the deal is with Crickett! He's all over everyone's lists!!
I really must read about this Cricket!!! Lol!!!
