Cover Reveal: Being Kalli by Rebecca Berto

So…I’m a sucker for an awesome cover, a great synopsis, certain categories and genres depending on my mood and I’ll read absolutely everything by an author if I’ve loved more than a few of her books enough. It’s really no wonder my TBR pile is unmanageable. Being Kalli already had me with with two of my weak spots: the synopsis sounds great and it’s a contemporary new adult. Now I have the gorgeous cover created by Najla Quamber Designs to push me over the edge! Rebecca Berto even nudged me harder by including a couple of sexy little images with quotes from the book. *sigh* Cover reveals are dangerous things.

There are two things you should know about Kalli Perkins.

1. She’d rather do it in public than be alone with a guy.

2. She loves her little brothers more than her mom does.

Kalli doesn’t pretend to be a good girl. At nineteen, she’s never been in love and doesn’t ever intend to be. She has her issues handled. She’s managed to keep the secret of what happened to her nine years ago from her mother, although her mother’s usually high anyway and barely notices Kalli or her little brothers.

One night at a party, Kalli makes a bet with her friend, Nate, that could change everything. Their friend, Scout, tells them there’s no uncrossing the friendship line once it’s crossed—even though they were both drunk. But Kalli can’t imagine how anyone could want her damaged self for anything more.

She didn’t count on Nate. Nate’s very capable of satisfying her not only under her clothes, but in her heart, too.

She just doesn’t know it yet.

Rebecca Berto is a new adult contemporary romance author. She is also a freelance editor.

She writes stories that are a bit sexy, and straddle the line between Literary and Tear Your Heart Out. She gets a thrill when her readers are emotional reading her stories, and gets even more of a kick when they tell her so. She’s strangely imaginative, spends too much time on her computer, and is certifiably crazy when she works on her fiction.

Rebecca Berto lives in Melbourne, Australia with her boyfriend and their doggy.

Cover Reveal: After the Kiss by Lauren Layne

GAH! I’m so pathetic, but I can’t help myself, I keep drooling over covers. This one is so pretty. *sigh* The pose and clothes are a little Julie James-ish, but since those are some of my favorite covers ever, I’m not complaining. If there was a step-back with her ripping his shirt off, I’d have to start worrying. I might be tempted to print it off to pet while I devour the book, which sounds so good!

So what do you think?

After the Kiss - Lauren Layne

After the Kiss: The Stiletto Series
By Lauren Layne
Publisher: Random House/Loveswept
Publication Date: August 26, 2013
Genre: Contemporary Romance
addtoshelf

In the first book of a delightful new series from Lauren Layne, the star columnist of Stiletto magazine will do anything for a story. Anything . . . except fall in love.

Julie Greene loves flings. Loves steamy first dates, sizzling first kisses, and every now and then, that first sexy romp between the sheets. Comfy pants, sleepy Sundays, movie nights on the couch? Shudder. But when Julie gets assigned the hardest story of her career—a first-person account of that magical shift between dating and “I do”—she’ll need a man brave enough to give a total commitment-phobe a chance at more.

Normally, Mitchell Forbes would be exactly that man. A devastatingly hot workaholic who tends to stay in relationships for far too long, he should be the perfect subject for Julie’s “research.” But what Julie doesn’t know is that Mitchell is looking to cut loose for once in his life. And the leggy journalist notorious for avoiding love is exactly the type of no-strings fling he’s looking for. In other words, Mitchell is the polar opposite of what Julie needs right now. And, at the same time, he’s exactly what she wants.

Cover Reveal: Catching Liam by Sophia Bleu

New Adult covers are all about the half-naked clinch or the kissing in the rain, right? Nope! Here’s a great one done by the very talented Sophia Bleu herself for her upcoming book that sounds very good. It brings back such good memories of the drool-worthy foreign exchange students when I was in school…(who cares if that was high school, right?)

Catching Liam
By Sophia Bleu
Publication Date: Summer 2013
Genre: New Adult Contemporary

Twenty-one year-old Jillian Nichols only has one rule when it comes to boys: catch and release. Boy-catching isn’t just a game for Jillian and her friends, it’s a lifestyle. After all, boys might be good for a dance or a drink and certainly a little under-cover action of the scandalous variety, but expect much else and you’re bound for heart ache.

So when her best friends and fellow boy catchers start dropping like flies junior year, Jillian is determined to keep boys in her bedroom and out of her heart. Until she meets Liam McAvoy, the kind of guy that sticks around to make waffles and who can’t—or perhaps won’t—take a hint.

Study abroad student Liam doesn’t want to be another notch on Jillian’s bedpost. Actually he has much more interesting ideas for Jillian and her bedposts, but his student visa’s set expiration date means he can’t promise her forever. That doesn’t mean he’s going to walk away from the challenge of discovering why Jillian is hell-bent at keeping people at a distance.

Before long, neither is sure who is catching who—or if they’re playing for keeps. Jillian knows one thing though: falling in love will not only break the only rule of boy-catching, it could also break her heart.

Cover Reveal: Follow the White Rabbit by Kellie Sheridan

So I might be a little attracted to books that take a children’s tale and twist it up and it might be true that one of my favorites so far was of Alice in Wonderland. I can’t stay away from books about the blonde who tumbled down the hole after the white rabbit (or followed a guy with a white crew cut into a shed), so I had to participate in this cover reveal. I love how funky it is – there’s no doubt that this isn’t going to be something fluffy! I can’t wait to see where this series goes.

Follow the White Rabbit (Beautiful Madness #1)
By Kellie Sheridan
Publication Date: May 21, 2013
Genre: Young Adult Fantasy

For centuries, Wonderland thrived as the domain of beautiful bedlam and unapologetic madness. It was a place like no other. All it took was one girl slipping in through the cracks of the universe to start chaos spiraling toward order. In the 150 years since Alice’s visit, the realm has become tainted—almost normal. Rabbits in waistcoats and playing card minions are little more than creatures of myth, and Wonderland is literally falling to pieces.

For Gwen, Rose, and Lucky, Wonderland is home, and yet they know little of its former glory. When the Alice prophecy resurfaces, they’ll have one chance to use Wonderland’s own legends to bring a little mayhem back into their reality. For she who controls Alice controls the fate of Wonderland.

Cover Reveal: The Secret Eater by Ros Jackson

I have sort of an unusual cover reveal for you today. This is from an author that’s new to me – it’s her first novella, but she’s been a book blogger for a long time. I actually chose this one because I liked the synopsis. I haven’t read a good demon story in a while and any excuse to increase my library, I’ll take. The cover for The Secret Eater was done by Rick Parsons and I think it has a very sci-fi, almost gamer quality to it. Very nice!

The Secret Eater
By Ros Jackson
Expected Publication Date: July 15, 2013
Genre: YA Urban Fantasy

Kenssie is a demon who feeds from secrets. Lately pickings have been slim, and she has grown so weak that her shield of invisibility is slipping. As the servant of a demon who eats embarrassment she already feels like she’s the laughing stock of the demonic world. But the scorn of someone who thinks the Hawaiian shirts are the height of cool is the least of her worries.

A powerful fear demon is dead set on making her his slave, a position that carries seriously short life expectancy.

She has no friends.

No powers.

No clue.

Her only hope of escaping a life of terror lies in stealing a grimoire she’s never seen from the clutches of a vindictive group of master demons.
