Barbara is currently not accepting review submissions for the remainder of the year unless you’re an author or publisher that she’s worked with before.
Cait is accepting a limited number of select submissions in her preferred genres.
I know this looks a little long, but it’ll help all of us if you make it to the bottom!
We review in Young Adult, New Adult and Adult categories
Barbara prefers to review:
- Romance (contemporary, paranormal)
- Urban Fantasy
- Sci-Fi Fantasy (not hard science fiction) – YA or NA only
- Realistic Fiction – YA or NA only
Cait prefers to review:
- Romance (contemporary, paranormal, historical)
- Urban Fantasy
We don’t review:
- Books with religious themes or overtones
- Middle grade
- Straight mystery/whodunit-style/adult
- Books with excessive violence and gore
Our preferred format is a digital file compatible with a Kindle (.mobi or .pdf), but hard copies may be sent if necessary. We can also obtain books through Netgalley and Edelweiss if you’d like to approve us to obtain your title that way.
We cannot guarantee we will post a review of every book that we receive for submission. We do our absolute best to read and review everything we can but if we have to assign an extremely low grade or DNF to a book, we are unlikely to post it. The exception is if we’ve solicited a book from an author or publisher; we will post a review in as timely a manner as possible if a specific date isn’t already agreed upon by both parties.
When submitting a book for consideration, please include the genre, a brief summary, the general length and links to the author’s website or some other way we can find them online. Do not send a copy of the book along with your request, please!
Policy for Self-Published and Indie Submissions:
Due to some negative circumstances in the community, I’ve decided to temporarily suspend accepting submissions of self-published books. We’ll continue, as always, to buy and occasionally review SP material on our own since both Cait and I have discovered some of our favorite authors that way.
Several of the places we tour with use Indie books and authors primarily or partially and we’ll continue to use them to find fresh material, as well as what we find and purchase ourselves. We’re always open to recommendations and we still welcome submissions although please be aware that we may only be available to accept a few, due to time constraints.
