“Waiting On” Wednesday: Shadowlands

Waiting on Wednesday

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine that spotlights upcoming releases that I’m eagerly anticipating.

ShadowlandsBy Kate Brian

Publisher: Hyperion
Publication Date: January 8, 2013
Genre: Young Adult Thriller

Rory Miller had one chance to fight back and she took it. Rory survived… and the serial killer who attacked her escaped. Now that the infamous Steven Nell is on the loose, Rory must enter the witness protection with her father and sister, Darcy, leaving their friends and family without so much as a goodbye.

Starting over in a new town with only each other is unimaginable for Rory and Darcy. They were inseparable as children, but now they can barely stand each other. As the sisters settle in to Juniper Landing, a picturesque vacation island, it seems like their new home may be just the fresh start they need. They fall in with a group of beautiful, carefree teens and spend their days surfing, partying on the beach, and hiking into endless sunsets. But just as they’re starting to feel safe again, one of their new friends goes missing. Is it a coincidence? Or is the nightmare beginning all over again?

Goodreads Summary

Blame it on Halloween coming, but I’m in the mood for spooky, scary books. This won’t be out until January, but it looks deliciously creepy. Sadly, Disney-Hyperion doesn’t do ARCs unless you’re a librarian or bookseller so I’m going to have to wait until it’s released to read it, but I’m going to definitely pre-order this one.

What are you waiting on this week? Leave me a link and I’ll come check out your pick!

  3. Thanks for spotlighting this one. I added it to my TBR pile.

This is an awards-free blog; we appreciate the thought but we just don't have time to reciprocate. I heard a rumor that someone slid virtual chocolate under the door once and it was well-received.

Talk to me! I love to hear what you have to say and will comment back.
